Superior Plastech

Superior Plastech is a division of the Superior Group that specialises in rotomoulded and CNC machined plastic products. These products are supplied to a number of internal and external customers as well as a dealer network.

Over the years, a market need became evident for a light and very versatile option for a varied number of berthing situations. This led to the development of polyethylene rotomoulded modules for a variety of pontoon, boatlift and industrial applications.

The rotomoulding process is an efficient moulding technique for the manufacture of plastic products. The process begins with specially developed resin that is loaded into a custom constructed mould. The charged mould is loaded into an oven and generally rotated on two axes at low speed, creating a tumbling action. As the heat penetrates the mould, the resin adheres to the mould's inner surface until it is completely fused. The complete part is ready for cooling and removal from mould.

Custom Moulding
Our expertise enables us to work with designers, inventors or manufacturers to develop new moulds from manufacture to testing and into production. An increasing number of products and components that have traditionally been manufactured in metal are being converted to a rotomoulded option that is durable and more cost effective to manufacture, transport and install. In addition to the standard moulded polyethylene products, there are now possibilites for Nylon, HDPE, PVC, Aluminium and Plastisol products. In addition to raw material supply there is also the following processes to add value such as:

- Fabrication
- CNC Machining
- CNC Routing

Engineering Plastic & Aluminium Routing
The Superior Plastech team has announced its expansion into the precision machining of profiled parts. With the arrival of our state of the art CNC Router and Cad/Cam package we are now capable of fulfilling all our customers “profiled parts” requirements in either engineering plastics or aluminium plate. Examples range from wear pads, sprockets and gear segments to star-wheels, conveyor parts, lining and panels.

Marine Specialist Service
We are already an established supplier of rotomoulded components to major marine companies in Australia. With the arrival of the CNC Router, we can now extend our services to the Marine Industry by including the manufacture of profiled parts. Typical examples would include:
- hatch and transom covers
- cabinet doors
- counter tops
- instrument panels in a marine grade plastic
- brackets, panels and diverse fittings in aluminium.
